Description: RISWorks™ computerizes every aspect of patient scheduling, demographics, billing, claims preparation, imaging and communication for diagnostic imaging groups. It provides a simple and effective way for radiology groups and magnetic imaging centers to manage work flow and administrative activities, enabling management, clinicians and staff to manage schedules, maintain patient records, perform billing, enter and retrieve exam data and view medical images.

MedStar has developed a comprehensive systems package and implemented software, system, modules, training, conversion, implementation, and customized interfaces to multiple PACS system vendors and Dictation-style transcription systems. The RISWorks™ uses an HL7 interface for the integration of PACS information into the patient records. Technical and workflow information are gathered from the PACS to populate key system fields that result in a complete patient account. Images are stored in the patient account for quick retrieval and decision-making support. The RISWorks™ interface can also provide real time communication of data between the PACS system and the MedStar image center management system.

Our DICOM solution provides DICOM messaging capabilities between the MedStar RIS and individual imaging modalities. The DICOM software provides configuration options for modalities to communicate with the trusted remote DICOM server. The DICOM solution is installed and licensed per database.

RISWorks™ integrates speech-recognition engines with digital dictation capabilities, providing a seamless migration path to the clinical documentation process of the future. MedStar uses the latest client server speech recognition softwares aimed at professional, network-based applications for the medical market. The result is a state-of-the-art, integrated end-user application with speech recognition.

RISWorks™ provides comprehensive data and tools for analysis and reporting requirements. It is unique in its software design, as it supports real distributed networks, where dictation, recognition, and correction can be done independently of the location, over a LAN, WAN, or the Internet.
